How old are the windows? You may want to talk to the manufacturer before you do anything. They may be able to offer the best suggestions for your windows.





The problem has to do with relative humidity, the temperature inside your house and the temperature outside your house.





Several conditions can increase condensation problems. If you close drapes over windows, this can cause the glass temperature and the temperature of the air between the drape and the glass to become cooler, making condensation more likely. If the thermostat setting is dropped substantially at night, this will cause an increase in relative humidity and may increase condensation. This condensation should vanish once the temperature rises in the morning. Cooking with uncovered pots, taking long showers, and poor ventilation overall all add to the humidity in your house.

That should eliminate the moisture in the air in your house.
I suspect you have single-glazed windows - only one sheet of glass between you and the great outdoors. Two things you can do, both somewhat expensive. 1. Replace the windows with double-pane glass OR fit glass storm windows (not plastic sheets). 2. Buy a de-humidifier which will soak up the moisture in the air in your house.
You can run a dehumidifier, but you will notice that your skin will be drier and you may have more colds. Winter air is already drier than summer air.


Another solution would be to replace your windows with thermopane windows that don't let as much heat leave thru the glass.

first you have to determine if there are drafts around the window. If so, use those plastic window treatments for drafts found at Walmart, HomeDepot etc. You basically tape them around the window and use the blow dryer to make it tight. They work great. They even have ones you could use outside instead of inside. If your widows are not drafty, the draft could be from some where else in your home or just from opening the doors, doing laundry, boiling water, taking hot showers, etc. You could get a dehumidifier and that will help.
Like most houses you probaly have double pane windows. This helps insulate. Over time the panes seperate not noticably but enough for air to get in. Moisture is in the air so viola you get condensation. No fix to it but to replace windod glass can cost 55-100 per window.
sorry bad advice folks...this happens with NEW windows as well as double pane(I have such) and its simply condensation...from the household humidity being higher than the outdoor humidity,,,


unless you lower the inside or raise the outside it cant be fixed..
