you'll have to dig it up. Or try cutting it right to ground level and cover it with thick piles of newspaper or cardboard. Leave it for a season and lack of light will kill it off. It also helps to spray it with killex before you apply the newspaper. Make sure its really thick layers. I collect papers all winter and from my neighbours to spread over areas I want to kill growth of all kinds. I cover the papers with mulch so it doesn't look too wierd. And the mulch and paper eventually enriches the soil underneath.How can i get ride of pompous grass?
It's hard to get rid of. It's natural habitat is desert so it puts down very deep roots so it can find water. Cut the tops off and seal them in plastic bags. Otherwise they will drop seeds and come back. Tie a rope around the plant, attach the rope to a car and drag it up. It's the easiest way.
I think you mean pampas grass. If allowed, burn the top. Then dig up the roots.
