I dont think its lime...just because it's green. Mineral buildup is generally a chalky white. Sounds to me like you have a mold, mildew or even algae. I imagine any of the products the others listed will disolve the gunk but you might want to make sure what the stuff actually is. If its some sort of foreign plant, consider some ventilation.
