You need to create a lawn that is not an invitation to weed seeds. A lawn that is thick and healthy leaves little room for weed seeds to germinate. This time of year you could use either a weed and feed product like Scotts Turf +2, or perhaps separate products like Ortho's Weed-b-Gone and then a lawn fertilizer. If you have bare patches you may want to wait for early fall to seed. EARLY spring apply a pre-emergent such as Scott's Halts. That will prevent most of the crabgrass from growing, as well as feed your lawn. I would not recommend gasoline as I am sure it is not good for the beneficial insects such as the earthworms. Best way to get rid of weeds is in the fall. Kill your yard with a weed/grass killer. Once dead and brown till the soil to a depth of 4 inches. This is the time to add nurtients if needed and till them in. Seed heavily with grass seed. The heavier you seed the fewer weeds have a chance to germinate and grow. This also will make your yard very full and thick. The grass will grow and then next spring fertilize and use weed killers to control any latent weeds.
Shoot your neighbor! Works for me! Just kidding, don't shoot him. The only thing I can think of is, to let your neighbor know what you use in your yard to keep the weeds from growing. If your way is cheap to do, you could offer to do it for him once,for free. That would make you the good neighbor and maybe he will want to keep doing it himself.


It is easier to make friends to get things done, than to make people mad enough to do things that only cause more problems.

pour gasoline on them or if you wanna spend money go to the home and garden store and buy the BAYER brand weed killer , its great and even has one that kills crab grass and turns it into normal grass ! its a new product they put out but worth every penny you spend ! but gasoline is the easy way and cheaper but it will kill any lawn it gets on too. but gas is the best way for the cracks between concrete slabs on driveway or sidewalk ! where grass normally does not grow but weeds tend to grow.
