How to get ride of nasty carpet smell?

So last night the toilet overflowed in my apartment. The water filled the entire bathroom, and spread down the hall and into the kitchen. It was disgusting to say the least. B %26amp; G came and vacuumed up the water and put down some disinfectant. However, our apartment smells like dirty aquarium. What should we do?! Please help. :(How to get ride of nasty carpet smell?
